Masterclass with
soprano ADELA ZAHARIA and pianist BIANCA MURARIU
January 4–9, 2026, Cluj-Napoca, Romania
REGULATIONS
Between January 4–9, 2026, a masterclass will be held with soprano Adela Zaharia and pianist Bianca Murariu, featuring 12 active participants. Classes will take place daily in two working sessions:
11:00–14:00 and 16:00–19:00.
The masterclass is intended for young vocal artists (undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students) enrolled in academic institutions of music both in Romania and abroad. Instruction will be conducted in Romanian, English, Italian, or German, depending on the participant’s choice.
To apply for this program, applicants must submit:
- an updated CV
- a portrait photograph
- a certificate confirming their status as student/master’s student/PhD student
- a link to a video recording of an opera/operetta aria from the universal repertoire, chosen freely, performed in its original key and language
- the titles of two arias they wish to study during the masterclass

APPLICATION & FEES
Selected candidates will be notified by email by December 5, 2025. They must pay the participation fee by December 15, 2025:
- 400 RON for undergraduate and master’s students
- 500 RON for doctoral students
Participants from abroad will pay 80 EURO (students/masters) or 100 EURO (doctoral students).
The payment order, confirmation of participation, and the selected arias in PDF format must be sent by email to contact@acaf.ro no later than December 15, 2025.

The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.
USEFUL INFORMATION
- Passive participants can attend the masterclass free of charge, subject to available seats.
- ANMGD students and master’s candidates may opt for fee reimbursement through ANMGD Research Funds.
- Students from other cities are offered free accommodation and lunches in the student dormitories/canteens of ACAF’s partner universities in Cluj during the masterclass.
- ACAF does not cover transportation costs for participants.
- Participants will receive a diploma certifying completion of the program.
REPERTOIRE
There is no compulsory program for this masterclass. Each active participant’s repertoire will consist of two arias that they are able to perform at a high artistic level. Selected candidates will send these two arias in PDF format together with their confirmation of participation.
GALA MASTERCLASS
On January, 9, 2026 at 6:30 PM, the ADELA ZAHARIA Masterclass Gala will take place, accompanied by Transylvania State Philharmonic Orchestra.
